Wightman is not associated Medical Alert – We have received calls from customers that "Wightman had called telling them that they are eligible for free medical alert. In case of emergency they wouldn't have to call 911, instead they would only have to push a button and help would be dispatched..."
If you are in doubt about the legitimacy of any telephone solicitation, don’t give the caller any information and either ask them to send you something in the mail or hang up. In addition, if you suspect you have received a scam call:
- Hang up immediately.
- Register your home and cell phone numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry. This will not stop all unsolicited calls, but it will stop many.
- Report scam calls to The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and to get more information on how to handle fraud visit http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/index-eng.htm
